Diet

While there is no specific diet for Kambo, eating as clean as possible will benefit you in ceremony. It is recommended that you lower your fat intake a week prior and eat grounding earthy foods and lots of fruit to help detox naturally.

Caffeine and sugar, if not slowly weaned off, can cause very uncomfortable detox symptoms. Headaches, sweats, prolonged brain fog, fatigue, dizziness, anxiety, cravings, tremors, and irritability. This is not always the case but it’s best to keep your body as clear as possible before sitting with Kambo.

Refrain or limit intake of processed food, sugars, gluten, dairy, alcohol, deep-fried food, sodas, large quantities of high-fat foods, and caffeine.

Important Note:

No alcohol or recreational drugs for 3 days before (or after) ceremony. The longer you stay clean after, the more benefits you will receive.

Take care of yourself in the weeks and days leading up to your Kambo ceremonies; eat nourishing food, stay hydrated, ground and spend time in nature.

Be aware of the messages and synchronicities that come, the spirit of the medicine starts working within us the moment we make the commitment.

Other Considerations

Please refrain from saunas, steam rooms, sweat lodges, or hot yoga for 5 days on either side of receiving Kambo.

I also strongly advise against enemas, colonics, liver flushes, or any detoxes (especially water-based) within 7 days on either side of your treatment.

Intentions

The mystical element of Kambo is that it works strongly with your intentions, ask yourself:

  • What is drawing you to sit with Kambo?

  • What would you like to get out of your experience?

  • How would you like to feel after?

  • What would you like to heal in your body, heart, and mind?

  • Where do you feel blockages in your life and in your body?

Take time to journal, meditate, or take a relaxing walk alone. Be inquisitive and listen for messages that will guide you to your intentions.
